I have lived in Poteau my entire life and I love the community
and the people in it. I am proud to work in the same
school system that provided my own public school education.
I began teaching in
the third grade classroom in 1998 and have been teaching fifth
grade since 2004. My wife Lisa is a Student Loan
Specialist at Carl Albert State College.
Lisa and I have 3
children: Ashlee, Curtis, and Michael. Ashlee is currently
a student at Kansas State University and resides near Fort
Riley, where her husband Jeremy is stationed. Curtis is a
student at Carl Albert State College, and Michael is a Poteau
High School student. All 3 of our children have been
educated in the Poteau School System.
In addition to
teaching, I am pastor of Oakridge Baptist Mission in Poteau.
In my spare time, I love to be outdoors working on carpentry
projects, taking care of cattle, or just fishing at the pond
behind my house.
I am an avid
football fan and during football season I'm a radio announcer
for KPRV Radio, 92.5 FM, which provides live broadcasts of
Poteau High School football games. My favorite college football
team is the OU Sooners. GO BIG
